Have a little Faith with Airless Chambers.

I'm sharing a project today in conjuction with The Airless Chambers blog as part of my EDT contribution for Rick St Dennis.

I'm sharing another of my altered boxes today using one of Rick's Skulls from the fabulous Digi Stamp Sheet "Skull" Digi. which is available in his Zibbet Store.

I coloured up one of the images from the Skull Digi sheet with copics and scanned into photoshop to create a scene. This was then printed out and attached to the box top. DecoArt Media Crackle Glaze was applied and when dry DecoArt Media Antiquing cream in black was applied and wiped back to reveal all the lovely cracks. This was then sealed with a coat of DecoArt Media Matte Varnish to protect. The box sides were stencilled with DecoArt Media Modelling paste using an Andy Skinner Stencil and when dry painted with DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics. The box sides were then given a coat of DecoArt Media Satin Varnish to protect. Love how this turned out.

Hope you like my inspiration.

Progressive Challenge Part 2- Rick St Dennis EDT.

Welcome to part 2 of the progressive challenge hosted over on the Sparkle and Glitter Blog.
It is an "Anything Goes" challenge but you have to use a Rick St Dennis image. There are so many images to choose from in the Zibbet shop - over 1200 in fact. So many different genres that you'd find it hard not to find something right up your street.
If you want to see what Team A made again then you just need to click here. You'll also find plenty of inspiration, along with some friendly chat and helpful advice, if you ask for it, over in our Facebook Group. Rick has promised a little party this month - so get on over there and keep your eyes peeled.

For my EDT piece I decided to alter a charity shop find that cost just 50p. I chose one of the many skull images in Rick's arsenal as I am quite partial to skulls called Skull Ka Bob.

I started with the plain wood box and gave it two coats of DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylic in Carbon Black. I then used DecoArt Media black Modelling paste through a tribal stencil on all three sides of the box and the drawer front.Whilst drying I created my box lid design in photoshop  and then added the coloured Skull Ka Bob image which has been scanned into my computer and placed on my design in a pleasing manner and then printed off. The image design was then glued to the box lid with DecoArt Media Matte Medium and brayered to get a good adhesion to the box lid and to prevent any bubbles. Once dry the edges of the box lid were sanded back to give a neater and more blended finish to the design. A coat of DecoArt Media Matte Varnish was then applied to the box lid and once dry a coat of DecoArt Media Crackle Glaze was applied which is self levelling and left to dry.
The box lid was finished by applying DecoArt Media Antiquing cream in black and wiped back to reveal all the lovely cracks. To finish a coat of DecoArt Media Matte Varnish was applied to the box lid to seal and protect.
Onto the box sides. The box sides and drawer front were given a coat of DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylic in Paynes Grey through the stencil which was re applied. To finish a coat of Andy Skinners Dirty Wash mix was applied to all sides of the box and drawer front. I then created another design in photoshop for the inside top of the box and adhered with DecoArt Matte Medium and when dry a coat of DecoArt Matte Varnish was applied to seal and protect.
Love how this turned out.

Haunted Design House New Challenge :- I Love Rock n Roll

I'm back with a new challenge over at Haunted Design House and the theme for July is:-

   LOST IN MUSIC
Be Inspired by a song or Lyric, or a piece of music.
This month's challenge is all about music and songs. Pick a tune and get inspired. Use the lyrics, or the music, or even the video if you're so inclined. Remember to keep it dark and creepy.
Please let us know which tune you've chosen and how it inspired your creation.

The inspiration for my piece came from the Rob Zombie Song
Living Dead Girl.

Blood on her skin
Dripping with sin
Do it again
The Living Dead Girl.

I started with a blank MDF box and gave it two coats of DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylic in Carbon Black. I the used DecoArt Media black Modelling paste through Andy Skinners Shedded Stencil on all four sides of the box. whilst drying I created my box lid design in photoshop and printed off and glued to the box lid with DecoArt Media Matte Medium and brayered to get a good adhesion to the box lid and to prevent any bubbles. Once dry the edges of the box lid were sanded back to give a neater and more blended finish to the design. A coat of DecoArt Media Matte Varnish was then applied to the box lid and once dry a coat of DecoArt Media Crackle Glaze was applied which is self levelling and left to dry.
Onto the box sides. The box sides were given a coat of DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylic in Paynes Grey through the stencil which was re applied. To finish a coat of Andy Skinners Dirty Wash mix was applied to all sides of the box. The box lid was finished by applying DecoArt Media Antiquing cream in black and wiped back to reveal all the lovely cracks. To finish a coat of DecoArt Media Matte Varnish was applied to the box lid to seal and protect.
