Bold and Bright Challenge with Andy Skinner.

It's been a while since I posted but wanted to share with you a recent piece of artwork I have created for  Andy Skinners Bold and Bright Challenge over on his blog HERE. This has so taken me out of my comfort zone of the dark and Macabre artwork I normally create but I have embraced the challenge and quite enjoyed the process. I created my piece on a 12x10 canvas board.

DecoArt products used: Media Fluid Acrylics in:- Carbon Black, Primary Magenta, Green Gold, Cobalt Turquoise Hue, Prussian Blue and Titanium White. Tinting Base, Modelling Paste. White Gesso.

Andy Skinner Stampendous Stamps: Industrial and Steampunk.

Andy Skinner Stencils for DecoArt :  Industrial Elements.

I started by gessoing the canvas board and once dry got my colours on the canvas board. I then stencilled the whole board in co-ordinating colours until I was happy. Once dry I pencilled in my design and painted over the whole board covering up the entire background apart from the pencilled design. A layering technique learnt from Andy Skinner HERE. Once dry I created a stencil from a tim holtz heart die from thick acetate and applied tinted modelling paste through it. Once dry the hearts were stamped with Andy's Industrial set. Doodles  and stencilled designs were added to the overall design and the focal points outlined with a black permanent marker. Quite happy how this turned out for a first attempt.

You can participate in Andy's challenge over on his blog and you have until March 9th to get your entries in. Some fabulous prizes on offer too, so I hope I have inspired you to take part.

Thanks for stopping by
