I also read a fabulous digital Magazine called Mixed Up Magazine Run by the Talented Katy Leitch. It is full of wonderful mixed media tutorials and is a joy to read and kick starts your mojo whenever your feeling at a loss creativity wise. Do check it out. They also have a Facebook page which is a wonderful community and very inspiring. I have participated in this months ATC Swap and here is what my recipient will be receiving. I hope she likes it.

Smeared Ink Reunion Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Smeared Ink Reunion Blog Hop. For all you Smeared Ink Fans out there here is your fix of some of the wonderful stamps that were available from this awesome company and which I was Honoured to be a part of as a member of the creative team. Myself and all the other participants listed in the blog roll below have decided to dust off our stamps and have a little reunion. I hope you enjoy all the wonderful projects and Inspiration to follow. Happy Hopping folks.

For my contribution I decided to create a little journal using one of Smeared Inks ATC Backgrounds as my focal point.

I just love the mystery of all those wonderful faces.. I created my journal using Eileen Hulls Passport Die by Sizzix.

The front and back cover were given a coat of DecoArt Media Black Gesso and then dried. Once dry a coat of DecoArt Crackle Medium for Chalky finish paint was applied and allowed to dry. Once dry a coat of DecoArt Chalky finish paint in Treasure was applied and all the lovely cracks appeared. The sentiment was stamped on the side of the front cover using Andy Skinners Unexplained Stamp Set using Black Archival Ink. Next a chipboard circle was given the triple Embossing Technique and Stamped into while still hot with a stamp from NStudio Designs from Stampendous. Once cooled a coat of DecoArt Metalic Lustre in Iced Espresso was applied to highlight the raised areas and applied to the front cover. Next I gave a chipboard heart a coat of DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylic in gold. Once dry the heart was stamped with the Smeared Ink Faces Stamp with black Archival ink. Then a coat of DecoArt Triple Thick Glaze was added to give the heart dimension. Once dry this was added to the front cover. To finish The journal was assembled and the signatures hand bound with wax thread. I love how this has turned out and will be making a lot more of these little journals.
The blog Roll is listed below so I do hope you hop on over and see all the wonderful projects created.

Discover the Journey- an altered box using DecoArt Products.

Been playing around altering a box using DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics and Andy Skinner Stamps this week. I decided on a Travel theme incorporating a compass die I have in my stash as the focal point on the box lid.

I started by base coating the bottom of the box with DecoArt Chalky finish paint in Treasure. Once dry stamped with black Versafine ink using the scratch stamp from Andy Skinners Toxic Stamp set.

For the box top I cut a design on my scan n cut using 300gsm cardstock and glued to the box top with Decoart Decoupage Medium. I then gave the box top a coat of DecoArt Media Texture Sand paste applying with a stencil brush using a stippling motion. Once dry I gave the whole box top a coat of Decoart Media Fluid Acrylic in Titan Buff. Once dry I applied DecoArt Media Antiquing cream all over the whole of the box in Raw umber and wiped back with a baby wipe. Finishing with a coat of DecoArt Media Matte Varnish to seal. I die cut the compass and medallion shapes. Gave both a coat of DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylic in Metallic Gold and when dry applied DecoArt Media Antiquing Creams in Black and Patina respectively and wiped back with a baby wipe. A coat of DecoArt Media Matte Varnish was applied to seal. The elements were then glued to the top of the box lid. To finish an ornate clasp was added for a closure.
