It's that time of year again when Marion (Bockel 24 ) holds her annual ATC Swap and I am so glad to be invited to participate again this year. The theme " My Body is a Cage " Here is my three cut and paste cards which is in the mail winging it's way to Marion in Germany. I look forward to seeing what I recieve. Thanks Marion for another great swap this year. My Digital Artwork just recently has taken on a bit of the surreal and I am enjoying exploring this new path. Keeps the brain ticking over just nicely thank you. We all need a push sometimes to keep our creative juices flowing and I'm liking where this is taking me. I have been doing another online class with the wonderful Andy Skinner. Boy this man is so talented and will post over the next few days what I've been creating with his most excellent instruction. So keep your eyes peeled. If you have a chance to take one of his classes do so, you won't be dissapointed I an testament to that. Timeworn Techniques and The Alchemist.

You may remember a few posts back I commented that I had rediscovered getting messy with Paint. Well here is what I have been up to these past eight weeks. I have been taking an online workshop with Andy Skinner called Timeworn Techniques. Learning different Timeworn paint effects such as various stages of  rust, old tin, leather, chipped paint, aged ivory, burnt copper and copper patinas to name but a few. A whopping twenty techniques learnt plus a variety of texture techniques. All this culminating in a final altered art piece combining the techniques learnt. I had a total blast and I reccomend his courses without a shadow of a doubt. So may I introduce you to The Alchemist my finished altered art piece from the class.

Back after a Break...........

It's been awhile since my last blog post, but that doesn't mean that I've been idling away my time doing nothing. In fact it is the complete opposite I have been extremely busy creative wise that is. Apart from my digital Illustration work I have been taking an online class with Andy Skinner this past eight weeks in his Timeworn Techniques Workshop and I have had an absolute Blast. I have been getting down and dirty with Paint learning all sorts of techniques to which the outcome resulted in combining what we learnt in constructing an assemblage piece incorporating the techniques covered in the workshop. The final piece constructed is then to be entered into a competition organised by DecoArt the manufactures of the paint used and judged by three people. Imagine the shock when Andy announced in class this week that one of the judges was the man himself  TIM HOLTZ................................ Holy Crap am I nervous or what. But whatever happens I am extremely proud of my piece and what I learnt and achieved. I will post pictures of my final piece after the judging and winner is announced hopefully sometime at the end of next week. Anyhow onto what I have created Illustration wise. The Designers over at Deviant Scrap have been busy releasing some georgeous stuffs for me to play with. Tracey from Hidden Vintage Studios has released..........  Almost Alice and April Showers, two delightfully vintage image kits and I am in love. Marsha from Tumblefish Studios has released a fabulous vintage eclectic mix of a kit called Lowbrow and Evelyn from Finecrafted Designs has released a Deliciously sweet kit called Bee Yourself. So hop on over and check these beauty's out.

Creative Therapy.

Due to the stresses of a busy ward at work this past week, my creative time has been a real stress buster and great therapy for me. I find as I create the stresses of the shift at work just seem to melt away and take my imagination to another time and place. I don't know what I would do without photoshop and the designers at Deviant Scrap in my life. Also I am embarking on learning new paint techniques in an online class that I am currently undertaking and I am having a Ball getting my hands messy. But more on that in a later post. So onto what goodies I have been creating with this past few days. Finecrafted Designs has just released the most Georgeous Kit Journaling Tiles. Full to the brim of pure metallic and rustyness delight. I'm in love. This kit has just so much potential. Bet Rimmer has come up with a fabulous Journaling themed Kit called Journal Interrupted a great addition for all you art journalers out there. Altered Emporium has released a Delightful little Mini Kit Lucky Duck just in time for all your Easter and St Patricks Day Celebrations. New Designer Duo at Deviant Scrap.

I 'd like to showcase my latest creations using images from a Fabulous New Designing Duo debuing at Deviant Scrap. One half of the Duo is my good friend and creative team colleague Tracey aka Glitterbug and the other half a new friend Melissa aka Honey Girl Studios. Together they make up Hidden Vintage Studios. Tracey and Melissa have been crafters/mixed media artists for a very long time and both are very talented ladies in their Craft. They have been dabbling in the world of Digital Art for the past few years and decided to take the plunge and design their own kits to include both the digital and mixed media artist alike. All their kits contain both PNG images and collage sheets ready to print and cut out to satisfy both the digital and cut and paste Artists out there. I am extremely delighted and honoured to be a part of Tracey's and Melissa's new venture by being invited to be on the Hidden Vintage Studios  Creative Team and creating with their debut Kits Sibling Rivalry and Red Headed Stepchildren. Also as treat Tracey and Melissa have a Debut Freebie  for you To. So hop on over to Deviant Scrap and check out the Goodies. Also Tracey and Melissa have some other freebies on offer over on the Hidden Vintage Studios Blog. I can't wait to see what they come up with next.
