Haunted Design House New Challenge :- I Love Rock n Roll

I'm back with a new challenge over at Haunted Design House and the theme for July is:-

   LOST IN MUSIC

 Be Inspired by a song or Lyric, or a piece of music.
This month's challenge is all about music and songs. Pick a tune and get inspired. Use the lyrics, or the music, or even the video if you're so inclined. Remember to keep it dark and creepy.
Please let us know which tune you've chosen and how it inspired your creation.

 

The inspiration for my piece came from the Rob Zombie Song

I started with a blank MDF box and gave it two coats of DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylic in Carbon Black. I the used DecoArt Media black Modelling paste through Andy Skinners Shedded Stencil on all four sides of the box. whilst drying I created my box lid design in photoshop and printed off and glued to the box lid with DecoArt Media Matte Medium and brayered to get a good adhesion to the box lid and to prevent any bubbles. Once dry the edges of the box lid were sanded back to give a neater and more blended finish to the design. A coat of DecoArt Media Matte Varnish was then applied to the box lid and once dry a coat of DecoArt Media Crackle Glaze was applied which is self levelling and left to dry.

Onto the box sides. The box sides were given a coat of DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylic in Paynes Grey through the stencil which was re applied. To finish a coat of Andy Skinners Dirty Wash mix was applied to all sides of the box. The box lid was finished by applying DecoArt Media Antiquing cream in black and wiped back to reveal all the lovely cracks. To finish a coat of DecoArt Media Matte Varnish was applied to the box lid to seal and protect.
