Sunday Inspiration with Lil Grumpies and Smudgy Antics.

 

I'm here with some Inspiration using Images from Smeared Ink.

 

 For my project I decided to use the Lil Grumpies Digi Stamp Set.

 

Another Image Heavy Post so bear with folks.

 

I decided to create a little box drawer built from scratch from chipboard that holds a little surprise within. Once the outer box and drawer  were constructed and covered with paper from my stash. I added a Tim Holz hitch fastener to the drawer front. Small dominoes glued together to make the feet and attached to the box base. I then printed out the lil grumpies I wanted to use and coloured with copics. I mounted one onto a chipboard piece and triple embossed to make a tile for the top of the box.

And now for the little surprise contained within. A front cover was created in photoshop and a title added. This was then bound with the rest of the coloured images into a little mini book to sit inside the draw.  Neat Huh..................

RSD Progressive challenge and Smeared Ink Member Blog Hop.

Today's post is playing Double Duty.

So bear with me folks!



First up is my contribution to the second installment of part 2 of the Progressive Challenge over on The Sparkle and Glitter Blog. If you missed the first part, please feel free to go look here.

For my project I decided to create a wall hanger for my friends Kitchen as she is a total caffeine addict. I used the original Morning Goddess Image from Rick's Zibbet Store. I coloured her up with copics and fussy cut and set to one side. The base of the hanger was cut from chipboard and backed with black and pink cardstock in layers cut on my Brother Scan n Cut. A chalkboard sign was created in photoshop and matted and layered and attached to the hanger with 3d foam pads. The Morning Goddess was then attached with 3d foam pads also. Holes punched and black ribbon added to hang finished off with a couple of dainty black ribbon bows. Hope she likes it...............

 





 

 

Now onto my second post and something a little different. It's that time again for the January Member blog hop. You can find the blog roll at the bottom of this post if you get lost along the way. The theme this month is DEAD OF WINTER. Interpret that how you like. Use your imagination and have fun with it! Also, don't forget the S&S rule that is has to be stamped somewhere (digi stamps are fine) – we love when you use Smeared Ink stamps, but it is NOT a requirement.



 

For my project I decided to create a Booklet that houses an ATC in it's own frame ( I love creating books from scratch ). I used the smeared ink Digi  Anatomy Skull Front. I coloured him up in tones of blue for a chilly winter feel. Fussy cut and layered him up ( five layers ) and attached to the book front. The book was constructed from scratch using mountboard and covered with black cardstock. An embossed frame was added coloured up with DecoArt Media Interferance paint in blue to tie in with the chilly theme. 

The inside of the booklet was based on the design of the ATC. For the ATC I used the same skull image placed on  one of  the backgrounds from the Poe Boy Digital paper set  ( re- coloured in photoshop ) . This was then printed out and attached to an ATC base cut from mountboard. The same design was resized, printed out and matted and layered onto black cardstock and attached to the left side of the booklet. A deep frame was contructed from Chipboard to house the ATC and given a coat of DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylic Interferance paint in blue to match the front of the book. This was then attached to the right side of the book at the same time as a piece of black looped ribbon which sits under the ATC for easy removal. Inspiration with Airless Chambers.

Good Morning I'm here today with some inspiration for you all using Rick St Dennis's image Skull with Roses available in his Etsy Store. I coloured him up with copics then fussy cut and layered the image up on black card to make him pop. I then scored and folded my card base from some 300gsm sturdy black cardstock. Fired up photoshop and used a background ( re-coloured) from Abigail Larson, printed then cut to size and adhered to the card base. I then diecut frames using Couture Enchanted Escapes from 300gsm black cardstock and attached to the card base. I then popped the image onto the base frame using 3d foam pads to make him stand up off the card. Two labels were then created in photoshop and printed out, fussy cut and mounted onto black card, then attached to the card using 3d foam pads.

Sunday Inspiration with Smudgy Antics and Smeared Ink.

For my first project as part of the Smeared Ink DT I decided to create a set of ATC's and a Booklet to house them in using Teri's fabulous new Digi  image set GrandMaster. The images are based on chess pieces, but skully just how I like them. I coloured up the images with my copics, scanned them into photoshop and added them to a background created with Rick St Dennis Morte Common Grave Digital Stamp. Printed them off and attached to an ATC base cut from mountboard as I find this a much sturdier substrate than cardstock.

The covers were created using mountboard and the same background design applied as the ATC's. A Spellbinders die cut in black 300gsm cardstock was used to adorn the covers back and front.

HDH Macabre Monday Monthly

The Minions are back to celebrate the Macabre with you again with a new monthly challenge.

 

The New Challenge theme for this month over at Haunted Design House is:-

 WHAT'S NEW PUSSYCAT.

You can either use a new piece of kit, or a new technique, or a theme of cats or something new. (New moon, newly dead, new life, new relationship, new year, new beginnings) .

 

Show us your most gothic, macabre, twisted creations and revel in the dark side of crafting. 

 

For my project I decided to go with the theme newly dead ( un-dead that is ). I decided to create a little booklet/ survival guide for Zombie's on becoming newly un-dead. I started by firing up my trusty photoshop programme and designed the front cover and pages to go inside the booklet. Once happy with the design I printed off the cover and the inside pages and cut to size. The front cover was then given an aged effect around the edges with some walnut stain distress ink. The booklet was then hand bound with waxed thread . To finish, the corners of the book cover and pages were rounded with a corner punch. Turned out pretty nifty if I say so myself.

Deja Voodoo- Image Transfer on Mixed Media Background.

Hi all, I'm here today with my latest creepy creation using one of Rick St Dennis's many fabulous images.

I decided to name this project Deja Voodoo..........you know,  that feeling you get when someone jinxes you, and you swear it's been done before, but you can't remember where or when..................

To start I created a mixed media background on foamboard using DecoArt Media fluid Acrylics. I then fired up photoshop and created my design using Rick's  Voodoo Digital Stamp Set which is available at Smeared Ink. Once happy with my design I printed onto Neenah classic white cardstock and coloured with my copics. I then scanned the design and printed out using my laser printer as this was gong to be an image transfer. I then painted over the main image and skulls in the four corners with DecoArt Media tinting fluid ( 3 coats ) as I didn't want these to appear transparent on the media background. Once dry a coat of DecoArt Media Matte Medium was applied to the image transfer and left to dry. The mixed media background was also given a coat of the Matte Medium and left to dry also. Once dry the background was given a second coat of Matte Medium and whilst still wet the main image was applied to the background face down smoothed over with my fingers and then brayered to get a good adhesion and to remove any air bubbles that had formed. This was then left to dry overnight. Once dry the image was then soaked with water applied with a sponge and the paper rubbed off in a circular motion to reveal the image that had been transferred to the background. A coat of DecoArt Media Matte Varnish was then applied to seal and protect. You can find video instructions on this technique courtesy of Mr Andy Skinner on his blog.

WITCHY CREEPMAS TAG

Hello I'm  here today with a creepy Creepmas creation in the form of a fun Creepmas Tag. I chose to use Rick St Dennis MFA's Digital image Witch Tree. You can find Witch Tree in Rick's Zibbet Store HERE.. I coloured her up using my copics, fussy cut and put to one side. I used a Tim Holtz tag die to cut my tag. I then fired up photoshop  using a digital paper by Abigail Larson to create a background for the tag. I also created a creepmas label as an accent, printed these out and attached to the tag base. I then added the Witchy Tree image using 3d foam pads to make her pop off the tag. A black ribbon bow was then tied to the top of the tag for the finishing touch.
